Dr. Ikpeazu launches Roll-Out Basic Healthcare Provision Fund in Abia State

Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu PhD, Prof. Isaac Adewale
Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, in the company of the State’s Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, the Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewale, State Commissioner for Health, Dr John Ahukanna and major stakeholders in the health sector, state and nation, are in Umuahia South LGA of Abia State, precisely at the premises of Apumiri Ubakala Primary Health Centre, for the ‘Roll-Out of Basic Healthcare Provision Fund”...
Abia State is spearheading the Progamme, in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Health, in partnership with other development partners like: WHO, USAID, World Bank Group, among others...
Recall that former President Goodluck Jonathan, in October 2014, signed into law the National Health Act (NHAct).
The Act provides a legal framework for the provision of health care services to all Nigerians and for the organization and management of the health system.
A key component of the NHAct is the establishment of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF), which aims to extend Primary Health Care (PHC) to all by substantially increasing the level of financial resources to PHC services.
Indeed, health is wealth and Governor Ikpeazu means business when it comes to health matters...
